Considerations when Choosing a Nursing Home for a Loved One

As with most things in life, we don’t ever prepare well for choosing a Long Term Care facility (LTC), otherwise known as nursing home; that is, until we are faced with the pressing need for long-term care or sub-acute rehabilitation.

As part of our normal aging process, our bodies begin to change due to a constellation of illnesses such as osteoporosis, emphysema, heart disease, poor vision, etc. The aging process is slow but when it arrives, seniors scramble to make modifications to their homes that can mitigate the changes. These modifications may include the use of walkers, wheelchairs, hospital beds, ramps, bathroom aids and others.
