Alameda Center’s Dr. Gonzalez At The Perth Amboy Senior Center!

In accordance with Alameda’s Monthly Community Calendar, Dr. Jorge Gonzalez Gomez discussed the topic “The Pharmacy in Your Home.”

Addressing a group of Spanish and English speakers, he indicated that drugs don’t belong in the bathroom since heat and dampness speed the medication natural decay process. Keep medications in a separate, lockable easily accessible cabinet – naturally with a current list of the contents and their expiration dates.

Dr. Gonzalez stated: “When you get home today, take an inventory of what is in your medicine cabinet, discard expired medication bottles and move unexpired medications to a dry and easy to access location.”
The medicine cabinet in the bathroom, he said, should contain items like toothpaste, soap, cosmetics, lotions, first aid remedies and so forth. Remedies such as burn ointment, antiseptic wipes, band aids, eye wash and cup, tape, gauze pads, alcohol pads, aspirin and/or Tylenol, antacids, thermometer, etc.

Next month’s lecture will be “Wound Prevention for Diabetics” April 12,2017 at 10:30 AM at the Perth Amboy Senior Center on Olive Street.
See you there!
